MOUNT VERNON, Wash. (AP) - Police are investigating after a 22-year-old man was shot to death in Mount Vernon.

KOMO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1T8NA5Z ) that officers were called Sunday after a report of shots fired. A homeowner was watching a group of people in a car that he didn’t recognize and there was a confrontation between the homeowner and one of the passengers.

Lt. Chris Cammock says the group drove away, but circled back toward the homeowner, who said he felt threatened and fired multiple shots at the vehicle.

The man who fired the shots is cooperating with investigators and no arrests have been made. Cammock says the man was legally carrying the gun and has a self-defense argument.
