TURTLE CREEK, Pa. (AP) - Authorities are searching for a suspect in a shooting that critically injured a man at a western Pennsylvania apartment building.

County police and a SWAT team were summoned to the Laurel Village apartments in Wilkins Township east of Pittsburgh after the 2:20 p.m. Monday shooting.

Charles Moffatt, the Allegheny County police superintendent, said the suspect fled after wounding a man who was later reported in critical condition. Police were told that the shooter had re-entered the building, but a search of every apartment turned up no sign of him.

Moffatt said authorities believe they know who they are seeking as a suspect.

A Forbes Hospital official said security measures were instituted at the hospital as a precaution upon the advice of Monroeville police.
