TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - Testimony is set to continue in the trial of a 67-year-old woman accused of fatally shooting a fellow square dancer in Texarkana, Arkansas.

The Texarkana Gazette (https://bit.ly/1PJRKz3 ) reports that the trial for Virginia Ann Hyatt is scheduled to continue Monday. Hyatt is charged with capital murder in the death of 59-year-old Patti Wheelington. Prosecutors say Hyatt shot Wheelington multiple times on Dec. 13, 2013, on her front porch because she believed that Wheelington was responsible for the end of her 40-year marriage. Both women were members of the Guys and Dolls Square Dancing Club.

Hyatt’s attorney argued in court last week that the state does not have enough evidence to prove Hyatt killed Wheelington, or that she did it with premeditation. Premeditation is required for a capital murder conviction.

Hyatt faces life in prison without parole if convicted.
