LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a hiker has died after suffering an apparent medical episode at the Red Rock Canyon National Recreation Area in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Sun reports (https://bit.ly/1nUdRYC ) that search and rescue crews found the man dead Saturday at the Turtlehead Peak trail. Police say the trail is one of the recreation area’s most strenuous, taking hikers nearly five hours to complete.

Police say the victim, who has not yet been identified, had been hiking with at least one other person.

His cause of death has not yet been determined.
