EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - A two-car crash in northern New Jersey has left three people injured.

East Rutherford police say the crash occurred around 4:10 a.m. Friday when a southbound driver made an illegal U-turn between Route 17’s barriers in East Rutherford.

The three injured people were taken to hospitals and were being treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Their names have not been disclosed.

The accident caused a stretch of the highway to be closed for about five hours.

Further details on the accident have not been released.
