HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - A man arrested for being in a stolen vehicle in early December now faces charges in connection with the thefts of several Salvation Army kettles in Hattiesburg.

The suspect was arrested in connection with the stolen vehicle on Dec. 13.

Police Lt. Jon Traxler told WDAM-TV (https://bit.ly/1mTUTkN) that Jones earlier this week was connected to the Dec. 11 break-in at the Salvation Army in Hattiesburg. Several collection kettles were taken but the amount of money lost has not been disclosed.

The suspect, being held on bond of more than $37,000, was a volunteer at the agency. He faces charges including commercial burglary and receiving stolen property.
