ATLANTA (AP) - Police say two people were injured after gunfire broke out at a New Year’s party in southwest Atlanta.

Police tell local news media a dispute broke out at the party and a man started shooting just after midnight Friday. A 23-year-old man was shot at least twice and was in critical condition, and a 20-year-old woman was in stable condition after being shot in the abdomen.

Police say they believe the man was the intended target of the shooting and that the woman may have been caught in the crossfire.

Police say the shooting remains under investigation and investigators didn’t immediately have a good description of the shooter.
