FITCHBURG, Mass. (AP) - An accident involving an all-terrain vehicle in Fitchburg left four people injured, including two young boys.

The Telegram & Gazette (https://bit.ly/1JjKvgd ) reports that rescuers received reports of an accident at 9:20 p.m. on Thursday near 500 Ashburnham Hill Road.

Injured in the accident were a 32-year-old man whose left leg was amputated and a 6-year-old boy who was in respiratory arrest and was taken by helicopter to a hospital. A 7-year-old boy also fractured his leg in the accident, and a 21-year-old man suffered a head injury.

All of them were taken to hospitals for their injuries. Authorities didn’t identify the victims.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident. Other details weren’t immediately available.
