CLEVELAND (AP) - Police say a cruiser was struck by a bullet while officers were investigating a New Year’s Eve shoot-out on Cleveland’s east side.

Witnesses told responding officers that numerous men were shooting at each other and houses with guns about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Cleveland.com reports (https://bit.ly/1moXZ06 ) that after officers arrived to investigate someone fired a shot that hit a police cruiser.

A police spokeswoman said the bullet didn’t go through the vehicle and no one was injured.

The department’s bomb squad was also called after a car struck during the exchange of gunfire burst into flames.
