SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - A former Uber driver is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage passenger in Scottsdale.

Court records show that 53-year-old James Richard Stough II is facing one count each of assault, kidnapping and sexual conduct with a minor.

KNXV-TV in Phoenix reports (https://bit.ly/1IIPerF ) a 16-year-old girl ordered an Uber ride home to north Scottsdale on June 1.

Stough allegedly insisted on inspecting the girl’s ankle after she mentioned recently injuring it.

The teen says she was scared and obeyed Stough as he inappropriately touched her.

Police say lab tests confirmed last month that Stough’s DNA was found on the girl’s shorts.

Stough was subsequently arrested and removed from Uber.

Representatives from the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office, which is representing Stough, were not immediately available for comment Friday.
