GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) - A Colorado man has decided not to become Grand Island’s city attorney, so Mayor Jeremy Jensen has decided to nominate a former Hall County attorney for the city post.

In November Grand Island hired Daniel Brotzman, who’s been city attorney of Englewood, Colorado, the past 20 years. But just before Christmas Brotzman notified Jensen and City Administrator Marlan Ferguson that he’d be staying in Colorado to be near an ailing family member.

The Grand Island Independent reports (https://bit.ly/22Cd7Yu ) that Jensen now wants to hire Jerry Janulewicz (jan-yoo-LEH’-vihtch), who was Hall County attorney from 2000 to 2004. City Council action on the nomination is scheduled for Jan. 12. If his nomination is approved, Janulewicz will start city work a week later.
