LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a Las Vegas firefighter was slightly injured after he fell off a roof while responding to a call near downtown Las vegas.

KSNV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1JOj6h7 ) that the crew member fell around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue public education and information officer Tim Szymanski says crews were fighting a fire around a stove pipe in a one-story wood-framed building. It spread to the roof and attic.

He says the house appeared vacant and was boarded up, but that squatters seem to have been using the house. The case is still under investigation.

The firefighter was checked by fire paramedics and cleared to continue working.
