BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Baton Rouge police say a 31-year-old Livingston man died when he fell from an elevated portion of Interstate 10 shortly after he was involved in a vehicle accident.

Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said in a news release that Dillon Dawson apparently was trying to escape from the scene Wednesday night when he fell to his death.

McKneely says witnesses told police that Dawson, in an attempt to flee, crossed over a guardrail and was attempting to let himself down onto the highway when he slipped and fell.

McKneely says Dawson dead at the scene.
