MEBANE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a Mebane woman was killed while trying to break up a fight between her boyfriend and another man, who’s charged with murder in her death.

The Times News of Burlington reports (https://bit.ly/1Ukrsmg) 21-year-old Sara Marie Huber was injured Thursday night and died at Duke University Medical Center. Charged with first-degree murder in her death is 35-year-old Marshall Randolph Paschal of Mebane.

His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday. It wasn’t clear Friday if he has an attorney.

Investigators with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office say in a news release that one man had a knife and the other had a baseball knife. Sheriff’s office spokesman Kirk Puckett says authorities believe Huber was hit with a baseball bat.

An autopsy was scheduled for Friday.
