SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The job market in Provo and Orem is growing faster than in any other major metro area in the country.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said this week that the area’s employment grew 5.5 percent from November 2014 to November 2015. That tops all of the country’s 386 other metro areas, and exceeds the overall Utah job growth rate of 3.6 percent.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1P6haT7) the Provo-Orem area added 11,400 jobs over a year, bringing the total employment number to 230,800.

Second in line in the jobs race was the Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, California area, which saw employment grow 5.1 percent. Idaho Falls’ employment was up 5 percent.

The biggest losers in the employment game included Pine Bluff, Arkansas, which saw its jobs numbers drop 7.2 percent.
