ZACHARY, La. (AP) - State police say a 45-year-old Zachary woman died in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 61 in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Trooper Bryan Lee said in a news release Joycelyn Tennart was killed Thursday night when her car was hit on the driver’s side by a pickup.

Lee says Tennart failed to yield at an intersection and entered Highway 61 southbound into the path of 71-year-old Marion Fuller’s vehicle.

He says the impact of the crash forced the two vehicles into the left southbound lane of U.S. 61, hitting an SUV driven by a 16-year-old boy.

Lee says Tennart was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. He says the other two drivers were wearing seat belts and suffered moderate injuries.
