WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - City commissioners in Williston are considering cracking down on adult entertainment venues.

The Williston Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1OUiwjI ) that a public hearing is scheduled Jan. 12 on measures that might restrict the location of clubs with live adult entertainment and their ability to serve alcohol.

Williston has two clubs on Main Street that have offered exotic dancing. They’re among the first things that visitors to Williston see if they take the Amtrak train into town. They also are within eyesight of the city’s Chamber of Commerce and Senior Citizen Center.

In 2014, one club was the scene of a fatal beating and the other was the site of a fatal shooting. Both clubs have had their liquor licenses suspended in the past because of disturbances requiring a police presence.
