LOS ANGELES (AP) - The California Highway Patrol says a driver not wearing a seatbelt was killed when his Lexus crashed into another vehicle on Interstate 405 in Los Angeles and tumbled down an embankment, ejecting him.

The CHP says at least three passengers in the Lexus, all in their mid-20s, were hospitalized with minor injuries following the crash Saturday near the Inglewood Avenue exit.

Officials say the driver, 28-year-old Erick Reyes of Inglewood, was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Investigators are looking into whether excessive speed was a factor.

The Los Angeles Times reports (https://lat.ms/1nbwzeo) the driver and a passenger in the vehicle struck by the Lexus were not hurt.
