FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of a 57-year-old man who was found unconscious after a fight broke out at a Fresno house party.

The Fresno Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1OlXESB ) that police say the man, who has not yet been identified, had been trying to break up the party early Sunday when things turned violent. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses say there were up to 100 people at the home, many of them minors, before police were called to the party.

Police received reports that a fight had started and arrived to find a teenage boy bleeding from the head and the 57-year-old man not breathing on the front lawn. Emergency personnel were unable to revive him.

The cause of the man’s death remains under investigation.
