AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn has hired Herb Hand as offensive line coach.

A 26-year coaching veteran, Hand spent the last two seasons as run game coordinator/offensive line coach at Penn State.

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn and Hand coached together at Tulsa in 2007 and 2008, when the Golden Hurricanes twice led the nation in total offense.

The Tigers announced the hiring to replace JB Grimes on Monday. Grimes is one of a handful of assistants who have left for other jobs since a disappointing season.

Hand is also a former assistant at Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Clemson among other stops.
