DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Dubuque police have arrested the ex-wife of a 72-year-old man who was found dead last week.

KCRG-TV9 reports (bit.ly/1n6FIow) that officers on Monday afternoon arrested 62-year-old Dolores A. Flynn on a warrant charging her with second-degree murder.

Officers found Gary Edward Breckenridge dead inside his Dubuque home on Jan. 4. The State Medical Examiner’s office determined the cause of death was blunt force drama, consistent with being struck with a baseball bat. Police say Flynn told a family member that she struck Breckenridge with a bat that she hid in a ditch. Investigators have also uncovered the bat believed to be used in this case.

Online court records don’t indicate whether Flynn has a lawyer who could comment on her arrest.
