BALTIMORE (AP) - Maryland Transportation Authority Police have arrested a North Carolina man wanted for alleged felony probation violations in that state.

First Sgt. Jonathan Green, spokesman for the MDTA, said in a news release that an officer stopped 22-year-old Shadell Barksdale of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Sunday afternoon on Interstate 95 near the Fort McHenry Tunnel toll plaza in Baltimore.

Police say Barksdale was speeding and following too closely, and charged him with numerous traffic offenses. Green says Barksdale, who was arrested and released on bail for allegedly shooting at a Goldsboro Police officer on Nov. 30, is wanted in North Carolina for allegedly violating probation.

Barksdale is awaiting extradition to North Carolina.
