FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Sunflower farmers are gathering in North Dakota for an annual conference.

The National Sunflower Association is hosting the two-day research forum Tuesday and Wednesday at the Ramada Plaza Suites and Convention Center in Fargo.

Researchers from the federal Agriculture Department and universities in North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa will present findings on sunflower studies.

Topics include diseases, insects, irrigation and blackbirds.

It’s the 38th year for the research forum.
