PHOENIX (AP) - The University of Alabama got a little help from Arizona State University at Monday’s national championship game after the marching band failed to bring some of their instruments.

The Arizona Republic reports (https://bit.ly/1PpoQ30 ) that ASU lent a trumpet and six baritones to Alabama’s Million Dollar Band after the visitors discovered the instruments hadn’t been loaded onto the plane when they left Alabama.

ASU’s Director of Athletic Bands James Hudson, who found the replacements, says losing instruments is pretty unusual. When ASU musicians travel, they use pre-flight screening, bypass security and go directly to the tarmac, leaving less of a change for instruments to go missing.
