RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) - California Baptist University officials say they’ve received a $10 million donation to build a new home for the engineering college.

The Press-Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/1OowsCT ) that Cal Baptist President Ronald Ellis announced the donation during a trustees board meeting Friday.

The gift from an anonymous donor is the largest in the school’s history and one of the largest in the region.

It will help pay for the construction of the three-story, 100,000-square-foot Gordon and Jill Bourns College of Engineering. Engineering classes are currently held in several locations on and off campus.

Cal Baptist spokesman Mark Wyatt says construction will cost more than $50 million. It’s expected to start this year and be finished by summer 2008.
