PHOENIX (AP) - Some people who visit downtown have been receiving parking tickets despite paying for their spaces through a mobile parking application.

3 TV (KTVK) reports (https://bit.ly/1nfESpB ) that some officers have been writing tickets for people who already paid for their spaces through Pango, an app that lets drivers enter their parking space and use a credit card to pay the city.

City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department spokeswoman Monica Hernandez says parking enforcement officers have access to Pango payment info, but regular police officers often do not.

Hernandez says the Phoenix Police Department will void any parking ticket as soon as Pango calls to report a mistake and anyone who is issued a ticket should call Pango’s customer service number, which is on the meter.
