HOMER, La. (AP) - State police report an arrest in the death of a 68-year-old woman from Homer.

The victim is Sulyn (SOOH’ lihn) Prince, who had been reported missing Monday.

A state police news release issued Tuesday said Homer police had been called to Prince’s residence and found evidence of foul play. State authorities were called and the investigation led to the discovery of Prince’s body in a shallow grave in woods near the home.

Investigators found leads that led to the arrest of another Homer resident on a charge of second-degree murder.

The suspect was identified by state police as 35-year-old Jermaine Johnson.

State police told KTBS-TV (https://bit.ly/1SM06XZ ) that Johnson lived in a house behind Prince’s. It was unclear whether Prince has an attorney.

Prince worked for the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office.
