BOSTON (AP) - The professional women’s hockey player who suffered a spinal cord injury during an exhibition the day before the NHL Winter Classic has posted an inspirational video on her Twitter account.

In the video posted late Monday, a smiling Denna Laing, wearing a neck brace, says “Hello, I’m back!”

The 24-year-old Laing, a Marblehead native and two-year captain at Princeton University, was carried off the ice on a stretcher Dec. 31 during a game between the Boston Pride and the Montreal Canadiennes.

Her parents say she “has limited movement of her arms and no feeling in her legs.”

On Facebook, Laing wrote she sat upright in a chair at the hospital. She said she’s “surrounded by the best family, friends, and supporters,” and thanked everyone for cards, gifts and “unwavering” support.
