SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - A 23-year-old man has been charged with the murders of three men discovered in a burning SUV in the city of Orange and a fourth man found dead in a car in Fontana.

City News Service reports Tuesday that Alejandro Ruiz also faces special circumstance allegations that make him eligible for the death penalty if convicted.

Fontana police say the body of 35-year-old Joel Berrelleza was found Nov. 15 with gunshot wounds in the back seat of a car.

He was the brother of 26-year-old Edgar Berrelleza-Soto of Orange - one of the three homicide victims found in the burning GMC Yukon Nov. 9. The others were 19-year-old Antonio Medina and Fernando Meza, both of Arizona.

The SUV rolled to a stop outside a home. The driver’s seat was empty.
