FRANKLINTON, La. (AP) - A Mississippi man has been arrested for allegedly burglarizing a Washington Parish church in September and stealing musical equipment and other property.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/1P89dMP ) 25-year-old Gerard Davis, of McComb, was arrested by McComb police after blood evidence left at the scene was determined to be his. Washington Parish sheriff’s detectives traveled to McComb and brought Davis back to Louisiana on Monday to face charges.

The sheriff’s office says the church reported the break-in Sept. 11. Deputies found blood, apparently from the burglar who cut himself on broken glass.

Davis was booked with burglary of a religious building. It was unknown whether he has an attorney who could comment on the case.
