COMMERCE, Calif. (AP) - A pickup truck sheared a hydrant and a power pole, trapping the motorist inside the vehicle under a geyser of water before being helped out by Los Angeles County firefighters.

The motorist spent more than a half-hour inside the truck in Commerce while authorities worked to cut power to the area over fears of possible electrocution.

After the water was turned off the motorist walked from the truck to be checked out by paramedics.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
