AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - One man has been killed after a shooting outside an Augusta liquor store.
Richmond County Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose said in a news release that 34-year-old James J. Sims III was pronounced dead outside of the business Monday evening after being shot at least once in the chest.
Richmond County Sgt. Monica Belser says the investigation into the incident is in its early stages and no suspect information was immediately available.
The shooting marks Richmond County’s first homicide of 2016.
