SPARROWS POINT, Md. (AP) - The old Sparrows Point steel mill property has a new name: Tradepoint Atlantic.

Tradepoint Atlantic replaces Sparrows Point Terminal as the name of the company that bought the shuttered steel mill in 2014 with plans to redevelop the property as an industrial and transportation complex.

CEO Michael Moore says the company’s new identity is meant to help it “build a global brand for a global economy.” He unveiled the new name and logo Tuesday. The logo features the letters “T” and “A” intertwined and forming the top three points of a star.

The company says the three points represent the property’s land, rail and water access. It also echoes the Star of Bethlehem, a giant star that adorned Bethlehem Steel’s L Blast Furnace before it was demolished.
