HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) - A teenager accused of stabbing a retired Portland police officer has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder.

KATU-TV reports (https://goo.gl/8hN9M9 ) that the 17-year-old, who has been charged as an adult, entered not guilty pleas Monday to attempted murder, assault and unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the Jan. 2 attack.

Officers say 59-year-old Jeanette Brown was assaulted while she was walking her dog in Tigard.
