CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) - Cedar Falls Police have arrested and charged a 26-year-old man in a bank robbery.

Jon Robert Ellingson is charged with second-degree robbery.

Police received a call from a First National Bank in east Cedar Falls reporting the robbery around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Bank employees told the police that a person wearing dark clothing and a face covering entered the bank. The suspect presented a note stating that he was robbing the bank. The person left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police say the suspect ran from the bank, changed his clothes and entered a nearby pharmacy and apartment building. Police detained him minutes later about a half mile from the scene and recovered the money he stole.

Ellingson is being held at the Black Hawk County Jail.
