GLENWOOD, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say two people involved in a brawl that left an Iowa principal and two others injured no longer face charges.

Mills County prosecutors said Tuesday that evidence doesn’t show that 19-year-old Denver Cook and 21-year-old Colton McDaniel were the primary aggressors.

Authorities have said the Sept. 27 fight in a residential neighborhood of Glenwood was sparked by a racial slur. Among the combatants were Glenwood High School principal Richard Hutchinson and his stepson, Hurl Beechum III. Hutchinson was knocked out, and McDaniel was shot in a thigh and ankle.

The Omaha World-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1SOdHOB ) that the 42-year-old Beechum is scheduled to go on trial next week, charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, willful injury and three other counts.
