KENT, N.Y. (AP) - An early morning fire has destroyed a home in suburban New York.

No one was injured in the blaze that erupted at the South Lake house in Kent in Putnam County around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The Journal News (https://lohud.us/1RCVCnB ) reports that Lake Carmel firefighters were assisted by other departments but were hampered by narrow roads and a lack of fire hydrants in the area.

It says the house burned to the ground after flames spread throughout the house. No one appeared to be home at the time.
