BUFFALO, Minn. (AP) - Sixteen lunch ladies from Minnesota, inspired by similar past winners, have collected their share of a winning Powerball ticket.

The winners from Buffalo High School may not have hit it quite as big as the lunch ladies from Holdingford, but they went home with more than just pocket change.

The women wore their uniforms Tuesday when they claimed their $50,000 at the lottery headquarters in Roseville. They matched four numbers and the Powerball, missing just one number for Saturday’s jackpot which was $900 million.

WJON (https://bit.ly/1PrEmex ) reports their ticket was purchased at a SuperAmerica Store in St. Michael. The women say they were inspired to play the lottery by the lunch ladies from Holdingford who shared a $95 million jackpot in October 2003.

Each woman received a check for about $2,000 after taxes were withheld.
