ASHLAND, Wis. (AP) - Authorities say a fire at an Ashland garage burned a man and led to the discovery of a methamphetamine manufacturing operation.

The man and a woman at the residence have been arrested and are accused of making meth. The Ashland Daily Press (https://bit.ly/1PX0bWf ) reports interim Police Chief Jim Gregoire says the man was conveyed to a Duluth hospital after officers found him in the smoldering garage Sunday.

Gregoire says there was a child at the home who was turned over to family members. The woman has been released on bond.

Agents from the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation put on hazardous materials suits as they investigated the scene.
