MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) - There were no ropes handy so Mount Pleasant police officers had to use crime scene tape to lead a wayward sheep and a donkey back to their owners.

Inspector Chip Googe of the department tells local media outlets that a resident happened upon the beasts in a rural section of town about 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

When officers responded, they formed leashes from yellow crime scene tape to guide the animals back home.

It’s not unusual for officers to lead larger animals back home. In the past they have responded to calls about wayward cows and horses and once even an emu.
