ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Orlando’s professional soccer team will have to wait another year to play in a new stadium, because construction is taking longer than expected.

Orlando City President Phil Rawlins said Wednesday that the new stadium would open for the 2017 season.

Team officials originally hoped to have the stadium finished sometime during the 2016 season, which starts in March.

The team instead will play the entire 2016 season at the Orlando Citrus Bowl.
