ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 23-year-old man entered a cellphone store in Rock Hill and held an employee against her will using a stun gun.

The Herald of Rock Hill (https://bit.ly/1P7AU8x ) reports Michael Brookshire of York has been charged with kidnapping and assault and battery in connection with the Monday afternoon incident.

According to a police report, a female employee told investigators that Brookshire asked to see some headphones and then later locked the door, telling the employee “she had to stay.”

The report says Brookshire set off a stun gun when the employee tried to unlock the door, but the woman was able to escape without injuries.

Officers arrived and took Brookshire into custody. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.
