BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Many North Dakotans are dreaming about what they’d do with the largest lottery prize in U.S. history.

The Powerball jackpot has grown to $1.5 billion, and the drawing is Wednesday.

No one matched all six Powerball numbers Saturday night, leading to the record prize.

North Dakota Lottery spokesman Ryan Koppy says the state had record Powerball sales of more than $4 million last week. He says sales at the state’s 450 or so retailers that sell Powerball tickets is intense.

An anonymous gambler from Williston became the biggest lottery winner in state history on Sept. 15, 2015, with a $2 million Powerball ticket.

North Dakota is one of only a handful of states that allow the winner to remain anonymous.
