GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A Taylors man is accused of trying to hire someone to kill his ex-girlfriend.

According to The Greenville News (https://grnol.co/1JJS93G ), arrest warrants say that 27-year-old Zacherey W. Henderson offered someone $2,700 to kill his former girlfriend.

Court records show Henderson was charged in November with solicitation to commit a felony and attempted murder.

According to investigative reports recently obtained by the newspaper, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office says it began an investigation after a friend of Henderson’s told a deputy that he had recorded Henderson saying that he was looking for someone to kill his ex-girlfriend.

A supplemental report says someone turned down Henderson’s offer to kill the ex-girlfriend for $2,700.

Henderson’s attorney, Randy Chambers, says his client maintains his innocence.
