RAISINVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Police are investigating the deaths of two people in southeastern Michigan’s Monroe County as a possible slaying and suicide.

Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Jeff Pauli says Thursday that the bodies were found Wednesday afternoon in Raisinville Township, about 35 miles southwest of Detroit.

The Monroe News reports that the bodies were found by a home health care worker who made routine visits to the house.

Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to officially determine causes of death.

Police say a small fire that had ignited inside the living room most likely didn’t contribute to the deaths.
