DECATUR, Ga. (AP) - Police say a man shot two men attempting to break into his home suburban Atlanta.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (https://on-ajc.com/1ZnssYz ) that 38-year-old Timoteo Hernandez fatally shot one of the intruders who tried to break into the Decatur home Wednesday. During the home invasion, his 51-year-old mother Ramona Derossette suffered a heart attack.

Derossette was taken to Emory Hospital. Her condition was not immediately released Thursday.

The name of the man fatally shot has not been released. The other intruder, 44-year-old Anthony Hubbard, was shot in the chest.

Police say Hubbard fled in a car driven by Chernika Marks. The 25-year-old Marks is been charged with murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery.



DeKalb County police spokesman Maj. Stephen Fore says Hubbard was taken to Grady Hospital, where he is in critical condition.
