RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Reno Police Department has unveiled a phone application that will allow residents to report crimes and suspicious activity, among other things.
KTVN-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1Q8X6US ) that Officer Tim Broadway says the MyRPD make reporting crimes, asking questions and getting information much simpler.
He says you can search your neighborhood for recent crimes or for sex offenders.
Broadway says felonies must be reported in person, but traffic accidents, misdemeanors and suspicious activity can all be reported through the app.
The application was paid for through forfeiture funds and is free to users. It was developed by a police officer on staff.
