MEDINA, Ohio (AP) - Trial is again being delayed for the father of a 21-month-old Ohio girl whose decomposed body was found in a crib.

Eric Warfel, of Medina (meh-DY’-nuh), was scheduled for trial next Tuesday on charges including corpse abuse, child endangering and tampering with evidence. His attorneys asked to postpone that, saying they’re still awaiting final autopsy results. Court records show a new trial date hasn’t been set.

The 34-year-old Warfel pleaded not guilty.

Ember Warfel’s body was discovered in July in a Medina apartment. The county coroner told The Medina Gazette that compiling a final autopsy report has taken an unusually long time because sophisticated testing was needed due to the level of decomposition.

Warfel had another daughter who died in 2013. That was ruled a “sudden unexplained infant death.”
