SALINA, Kan. (AP) - A woman accused of attempting to hide a gun used to kill a Salina teen has been charged with two additional crimes.

The Salina Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1J6D8Jd ) that 21-year-old Mexico citizen Azucena Garcia-Ferniza was charged in August with one count of possession of a firearm while unlawfully in the U.S.

In a superseding indictment returned Tuesday, Garcia-Ferniza was additionally charged with one count of accessory to a crime after the fact and one count of having knowledge of a felony she didn’t report to law enforcement.

The crimes allegedly occurred a day after Allie Saum was fatally shot in May 2015.

Garcia-Ferniza also faces multiple Saline County charges, including violating a no-contact order by visiting her boyfriend, 22-year-old Macio D. Palacio Jr., in Saline County Jail.

Palacio is one of five men charged in Saum’s death.
