HEARNE, Texas (AP) - Police are investigating the deaths of a woman and her 15-year-old daughter whose bodies were found in their Central Texas mobile home following a fire.

Hearne police Sgt. Stephen Yohner (YAH’-ner) said Saturday that autopsy results are pending on 34-year-old Wanda Vinton and her daughter, Chyene. Authorities are seeking the cause of the blaze.

Yohner says officers, about 90 minutes before Thursday morning’s fire, answered a call from Vinton about an ex-boyfriend bothering her, then leaving. Police who responded saw Vinton padlock a storm door, from the inside, for security.

A neighbor later reported the blaze. Firefighters broke the door to cut the padlock. The bodies were found after the fire.

A volunteer firefighter, who’s also a police officer, was treated for smoke inhalation.

The disturbance incident also remains under investigation.
